Convergent journalism brings together all media types (essentially print, online, broadcast and mobile), ideally to better deliver the news by relying on the strengths of each medium and sharing and reworking content.

The rapid evolution of new media delivery technologies such as the internet combined with globalisation and the increasing worldwide demand for news services is transforming journalistic production. The integration of multiple news interfaces online (print stories alongside streaming vision and audio) means that journalists require more than an ability to spot a story and write it up.
The reporters for MOTIF (students in HAM420 at Swinburne University) are learning how to report, write, record, shoot and deliver news across a range of media. The outcomes of that learning will be displayed here on the MOTIF website.
We began our journey by asking some fellow students what they knew about convergent journalism.
